ERA-Net CHIST-ERA invites applications for its joint research call. This supports multidisciplinary and transnational information and communication sciences and technologies research with the potential to lead to significant breakthroughs. Proposals may address one of the following topics: lifelong learning for intelligent systems, or visual analytics for decision making under uncertainty.

Opportunity

  • Topic 1: Lifelong Learning for Intelligent Systems (LLIS)
  • Topic 2: Visual Analytics for Decision-Making under Uncertainty (VADMU)

Eligibility

CHIST-ERA is a hybrid funding instrument. Proposals are submitted by international consortia with partners (research groups) from multiple countries. The call as well as the proposal evaluation and selection are international. Funding is then provided by participating funding organizations directly to the selected consortium partners.

Each partner is directed by a principal investigator (PI), who interacts with the funding organization. One partner acts as the coordinator for the consortium and is the single point of contact with CHIST- ERA.

It is necessary that both the consortium is eligible for CHIST-ERA and all partners are eligible to be funded by their respective organization. All partners have to fulfill the regulations of their respective funding organization.

If a partner may be eligible to receive funding by multiple participating organizations, the partner must choose a single organization for funding.

Funding Available

  • Maximum amount: 3,725,000 € (LLIS) and 3,275,000 € (VADMU)
