Shastri Indo Canadian Institute (SICI) is pleased to invite applications from Canadian universities and other Canadian organizations including provincial and territorial governments to take benefit of its SPSG in Aid program, which provides partial matching financial contribution as well as logistical support for partner organizations’ programs and activities. Eligible partner organizations include all the current SICI member institutions, other educational institutions in Canada, provincial and territorial governments in Canada, as well as private or public companies operating in Canada.

Opportunity

The purpose of SPSG in Aid program is to support furthering bilateral exchanges, institutional linkages, as well as areas traditionally supported by SICI, including research and other academic collaborations between Canadian and Indian Institutions.

Eligibility

  • Any Canadian organizations willing and or working towards enhancing higher education cooperation between Canada and India.
  • For projects involving multi-sector collaborative activities with India, all expenses that are broadly aligned to educational and research collaboration will be eligible for funding under this grant program.
  • Preference will be given to SICI’s Canadian Council Member Institutions (Please note: Carleton is a member institution).
  • SPSG in Aid project proposals could be built on any existing projects (i.e. continuation and or escalation of scope/size) or a new project.

Funding Available

  • Maximum amount: $2,000 CAD
  • SPSG in Aid funds may be used to support bi-national seminars, conferences, workshops, meetings, scholarly discussions, planning meetings, student visits, faculty visits, delegation visits between India-Canada, etc., that initiate or further institutional linkages, academic mobility and trade relations between India and Canada.
  • Project Implementation Period: Between 1 November 2016 to 31 August 2017
