The Science and Technology Facilities Council, under its projects peer review panel, invites proposals for funding for large projects. This supports projects that have a significant scientific priority in particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy or particle astrophysics.
Opportunity
Activities include the following:
- participation in new experiments or missions
- the further development of existing high priority experiments or missions
- the development of new instruments
- upgrades to existing detectors
Eligibility
Applicants must be employed as academic members of staff, lecturers or equivalent, and be either resident in the UK or employed by an overseas research organization approved by the STFC as eligible to apply. If the applicant is not employed by the organization submitting the proposal, they must have have written arrangement from the organization confirming that they may carry out research there. Post-doctoral research assistants may be identified as co-applicants.
