This R2HC funding is an open call with proposals that address specific or multiple public health issues by gathering evidence with the potential to contribute to improve public health outcomes in humanitarian contexts.

Under this call, research that informs the prioritization of public health humanitarian interventions and maximizing value for money are encouraged.

There are two stages: Expression of Interest (EOI ) and the full proposal stage. Applicants with the strongest EOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal.

*Note to Francophone applicants: ELRHA has made funds available for the translation of any full proposal developed in French, to be translated into English (the operational language of Elrha).

Eligibility

  • applications must be submitted by an institution/organization representing a research partnership appropriate to the proposed field of study
    • research teams can be made up of a variety of organizations, but must include both a research institution and an operational humanitarian organization
  • the lead applicant may not be a profit-seeking enterprise or an individual (although these may form part of the research team)

Available Funding

  • a maximum of £3M of research funding available for current call
  • grants will be for a maximum duration of 36 months – 24 months for research to be conducted, followed by 12 months for uptake and dissemination activities
