1) International Research Seed Grants

2) Launch of the Spring CU SSHRC Exchange Program – (Deadline: March 20, 2019)

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2019 Spring CU SSHRC Exchange Program, which comprises the following internal competitions for researchers in the social sciences and humanities:

Conference Travel Grant (up to $3,000) to support costs associated with the dissemination of research findings at a conference when other funding sources are not available

Knowledge Mobilization Grant (up to $7,000) to support costs associated with organizing a small-scale research conference or workshop and/or the preparation of knowledge dissemination outputs/products associated with research projects when other funding sources are not available

3) The 2019 CU Development Grants Program has launched! – (Deadline April 22, 2019)

These one-year, internal grants have a value of up to $10,000 and their purpose is to help initiate, bridge, complete or reorient a faculty’s research program through support of a single defined project when other funding sources are not available.  All full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members (Assistant, Associate, Full) are eligible to apply.   Funding is awarded through three separate competitions:

  • CU – SSHRC Explore Development Grant
  • CU – NSE Research Development Grant
  • CU – Health Research Development Grant

4) Consultation: Made-in-Canada Athena SWAN consultation

As committed to in Budget 2018, NSERC will be implementing an Athena SWAN initiative, adapted to the Canadian context and reflecting post-secondary institutions in Canada. You are encouraged to share your views and ideas about the draft Athena SWAN Charter, using our guiding questions to frame your feedback.

Your responses will be used to enhance the Athena SWAN Charter and improve program design. In order to add to the transparency of the consultation process, NSERC may post on its website a brief, high-level summary of the feedback received. This would be done without attribution to and without identifying individuals.

Written comments should be sent as attachments to: consultations@nserc-crsng.gc.ca. Please indicate in your email if you are responding as an individual or on behalf of an institution/organization.
