The Department of English Language and Literature would like to extend our most sincere congratulations to Professor Siobhain Bly Calkin, who has been awarded the Marston LaFrance Research Fellowship for 2025-2026! Professor Bly Calkin will use the fellowship to complete her book manuscript, Narratives of Impassioned Things: Rethinking Relic Agency through Tales of the Lance of Antioch and the Cross of Jerusalem.

Each year, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences awards the Marston LaFrance Research Fellowship to one of its outstanding faculty members in order to facilitate the completion of a major research project that requires significant release time.
