Chair, Department of English Language and Literature
Welcome to the Department of English! Whether you’re a new or returning student, a parent, or a member of the community who’d like to know more about us, we’re glad you’re here.
We are a caring, supportive department with a diverse range of teaching and research interests. In our classes you will encounter professors who are excited about their work and dedicated to student success. Our students learn how to become more attentive readers and listeners, and more effective writers and speakers. In our classrooms and our departmental culture, we are guided by inclusivity, creative thinking, and critical care for the world we live in. We are convinced that, more than ever, the planet needs people who can practice the skills we teach and the values we strive to uphold.
