Professor Amrita Hari from FIST discusses her research on migration and identity, and how to recognize the diverse ways in which gender, sexuality, race, class, and dis/ability shape our lives and the world around us.

Dr. Hari is the Director and an Associate Professor at FIST. Her research focuses on global migration, transnationalism, citizenship, gender, diasporic formations, intersectional identities and acts of resistance of refugees and asylum seekers. Her work engages with the notion of “doing gender” within the context of migration, gendered division of household labor, and the Canadian labor market.
