French outside of the classroom

The Department of French is happy to provide exciting opportunities to use French outside the classroom during social activities. Join the Department’s Club francophone to meet other students that want to practice French in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.

The Club Francophone’s Fall season is now in full swing with new activities for 2025-2026.

The Club Francophone

The Club Francophone organizes monthly social activities in French for students of all levels. You don’t need to be enrolled in a French course to participate.

Lead by Alexiane, our Assistant from France, and Nadia, one of the Department TAs, the Club francophone organizes activities that give students opportunities to use French outside of the classroom. With monthly pub francophone meetings, trivia nights, movie nights and various outings, the Club allows you to connect with other students eager to practice their French.

Our next activities

Join us for the last Pub Francophone on December 3rd or for our Christmas Cookie decoration party on December 9th!

Pub francophone

A long-standing activity of the Club is the Pub francophone. Held monthly at Mike’s Pub on campus, this is a great opportunity to catch up with other French learners and speakers in a casual environment.
