Healthy Workplace is happy to announce our upcoming Yoga Series – Spring Into Summer – beginning on May 7th, 2024!

A highly requested activity among the Carleton Faculty and Staff community, Spring Into Summer Yoga Series is designed to provide the opportunity for you to step away from your work space and join your colleagues for 40 minutes of mindful movement.

Join us on Tuesdays from 12:10pm – 12:50pm in the MacOdrum Room 482
(located in the Future Learning Lab).

Spring Into Summer Yoga Series will run from May to August and will be taught by Leila Alijani, who is a member of the Carleton Faculty and Staff Community and works in Facilities Management & Planning

A Message Leila about her teaching style and what you can expect from this series:

I embarked on my journey as an instructor over two decades ago. Throughout my career, I have developed into various styles such as Ashtangs, Sivanada, Iyengar, etc. and it is the harmonious blend of yin and yang that resonates with me the most. This unique fusion not only balances contrasting energies but also offers a comprehensive approach to wellness, aligning the mind, body, and spirit in perfect harmony. My dedication to mastering these styles has allowed me to craft dynamic and inclusive classes that cater to the diverse needs of my students, fostering physical vitality, mental clarity, and spiritual growth.

While I cherish the opportunity to guide practitioners of all ages, my heart lies in working with seniors. Their wisdom, resilience, and unwavering dedication to personal growth inspire me endlessly. Over the years, I have cultivated a deep connection with this demographic, finding immense joy in witnessing their progress and witnessing the transformative power of yoga in enhancing their quality of life. Beyond the studio, my passion for service has led me to volunteer at women’s health centers and senior homes, where I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact of yoga on individuals’ well-being. I am deeply committed to sharing the transformative benefits of yoga with others, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue this journey at Carleton University, fostering a nurturing environment where every individual can thrive on their path to holistic wellness.

Big thanks to Leila for offering to lead this series as well as MacOdrum Library and the Future Learning Lab for offering their space.
