Become a HWP Champion

The Healthy Workplace Champions Network is a group that has historically played an incredibly important role in supporting Healthy Workplace initiatives and improving the health and well-being of the Carleton community.    

The Healthy Workplace Champions Network is made up of volunteer faculty and staff across the campus community, each representing and supporting their department or unit. The network’s ability to effectively communicate about the programs and resources available, to encourage their colleagues to take advantage of these services and to champion the creation of a healthy workplace culture within their team has hugely supported the health and well-being of the campus community. Healthy Workplace Champions also play an important role in communicating your department’s needs and feedback back to the Healthy Workplace committee.   

The Healthy Workplace Champion volunteer opportunity includes the following responsibilities: 

• Receive regular communications from Healthy Workplace about upcoming events, offerings, workshops, employee resources and campus-wide initiatives. 

• Add Healthy Workplace as an agenda item in regular staff or team meetings to pass along information about upcoming events and workshops. 

• Encourage members of their department to participate and engage in Healthy Workplace offerings. 

• If possible, create a healthy workplace space or bulletin board in their work area where resources and Healthy Workplace related news can be shared. 

• Bring feedback and requests from co-workers to the Healthy Workplace. 
  
• The Healthy Workplace Champions Network may also be called upon to support campus-wide initiatives and participate in or pilot possible training opportunities and workshops before they are offered to the wider campus community.
