Osama Okour is a former Lead Country Researcher in Jordan for the Refugee Led Organization project. He holds an M.A. in Economics and Development from the University of Florence and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Jordan University of Science and Technology. His Master’s thesis entitled The Analysis of Multidimensional Depravation in Jordan Using Mixed Methods: The Case of Palestinian and Syrian Refugees examines the acute multidimensional poverty or wellbeing through the Alkire-Foster method by incorporating new dimensions and indicators tailored to specific contexts like Jordan. Osama has over five years of experience with INGOs, NGOs and CBOs in Jordan and Italy. Recently he has worked on impact evaluations for disability in Jordan and Palestine with Action Research for CO Development (ARCO). He has experience working with qualitative data, participatory research studies and impact evaluations. Osama’s research focuses on socioeconomic issues of poverty, health, education, and inequality for refugees and vulnerable communities in the Middle East.
