My current thesis research assesses multifaceted factors associated with symptoms of anxiety and depression among LGBTQ+ individuals, and the disparities in rates of anxiety and depression when compared to their non-LGBTQ+ counterparts. Factors include minority stressors, identity concealment, secret-keeping behaviors, and the impact of structural stigma in both rural and urban settings.
