Damilola Abimboye‘s interest in the nonprofit sector began a few years ago when she discovered her passion for working with marginalized individuals. She first discovered an interest in human services through community projects to raise awareness about marginalized and vulnerable populations, such as the homeless, elders and underserved youths.
She started her own nonprofit organization with the objective of breaking the cycle of youth homelessness through entrepreneurship, education and innovation. She’s contributed her time and resources to communities in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver and is now looking forward to increasing her skill set when it comes to nonprofit management and leadership — in the MPNL program.
After completing her Master’s degree, she hopes to embark on a PhD program in Public Policy and Governance. Her academic goal is related to government leadership roles that contribute to laws and policy-making associated with marginalized individuals. She also has an interest in studying about diaspora communities.
