Jing Jia received her Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from Xuzhou University of Technology, in China. Jing was interested in philanthropy because she got help from a local charity when she was in high school, and hopes to show gratitude to the community through volunteering and donations. She volunteered to raise donations for remote regions and volunteered to provide monthly service for the elders when she was at the university — and donated to the Red Cross.
Jing worked at Wuxi Charity as an Information Management Specialist, managing the organization’s online presence and creating digital content; designing a content strategy and budget for online fundraising events; and aiding in the administration of financial aid to underserved families. While working on project implementation, she saw the importance of administrative structures in terms of a charity’s credibility and integrity, which led her to learn about nonprofit operations in depth.
Jing is studying in the MPNL program with the question of how public policy and philanthropy can combine and help each other.
