Carleton University Hosts 'Tiny' Open House for Net-Zero Energy Project

September 5, 2018

A team of Carleton University students from the Faculty of Engineering and Design will host an open house of their innovative “Northern Nomad” tiny house, which demonstrates how an Ottawa-based home can have a net-zero energy footprint and on-site water generation with an aim to revolutionize home construction by reducing industry impact on climate change.

The open house will allow members of the public to explore the completed house, meet students involved with the project and learn about innovative green building technologies.

Providing remarks will be Carleton President Benoit-Antoine Bacon, project supervisor Prof. Scott Bucking of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, and a student involved in developing the tiny house.

Media are invited to attend.
