Physicists have developed an understanding of the laws and matter that make up stars, planets and people. However, what we can see makes up only five per cent of the energy of the universe. The other 95 per cent is comprised of dark matter – a mysterious dark energy.
In this talk, Stolarski will discuss what we do and do not know about dark matter and dark energy. He will describe theoretical and experimental techniques being developed by scientists to further understand these mysterious phenomena.
The Science Café series is organized by the Faculty of Science at Carleton University to discuss relevant issues facing our society and how science can help solve real-world problems. Meet some of our award-winning faculty members and graduate students as they share their excitement about science with the community.
