Edward (Ted) Jackson serves as adjunct professor in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. He is a professor, consultant, and editor with current research interests in sustainable finance, gender lens investing, jobs in the transition economy, and community-university partnerships.
Professor Jackson is a retired tenured public-policy professor, former associate dean (research) and co-founder of the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation, at Carleton University, where he is adjunct research professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration. He is also an honorary associate with the Institute of Development Studies based at Sussex University.
Professor Jackson has advised bilateral and multilateral development agencies and banks, investment funds, foundations, non-profits, and universities in 60 countries, including Bangladesh, Belize, Ghana, Kenya, Singapore, South Africa, and Vietnam. An active, multidisciplinary scholar, his publications have been cited in 200 peer-reviewed social-science journals. He co-edited the special 2022 issue of the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment on growing gender lens investing in emerging markets.
As a volunteer, Dr. Jackson co-founded the McLeod Group, is a board member of the Group of 78 and council member of the International Evaluation Academy, and advises the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, an American farmworkers’ rights non-profit, and Sweef Capital, a Singapore-based, women-led impact fund.
