Resume Workshop – Session 3: Insider Insights into Applicant Tracking Software – Thursday, February 15, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Session 3 covers applicant tracking software, which is software that manages the recruiting and hiring process, including job postings and applications. This session includes how Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) is used by organizations, indicators that an organization may be using ATS and how the use of ATS affects how you write your resume and cover letter.

Applying to Graduate and Professional Studies Workshop – Part 1: What Do I Need to Know? – Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Thinking about graduate school or professional programs? Getting ready to apply? Not sure where to start? Career Services is here to help! This session is open to both current students and alumni regardless of your career goals and where you are at in the exploration or application process. The session will cover things to consider before applying to any graduate school and professional programs, how to research/compare schools and requirements, key timelines for applying, how to decide what offer to accept when there are multiple offers and how Career Services can help with the consideration of graduate schools or professional programs. Please note that you can attend one or both sessions depending on your needs and schedule.

Resume Workshop – Session 4: Leveraging AI Tools for Job Applications – Thursday, February 29, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

AI tools are having an increasing impact all across society. Session 4 covers AI tools and how they relate to job applications. This includes best practices for using AI to create job applications, examples of possible prompts to use and AI detection tools.

Applying to Graduate and Professional Studies Workshop – Part 2: Application Documents – Wednesday, March 6, 2024, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

This session for students and alumni will cover writing a high-quality personal statement, the differences between a CV and resume and when to use either one appropriately, securing the right professional and academic references and preparing for standardized tests. There will also be time during the session to work on your personal statement/letter of intent or application and receive support and feedback.
