In order to ensure that you are ready for registration, you should keep the following things in mind:

Changes of Program Elements (COPE): If you plan on changing your major or applying to another degree program, you should submit your application with plenty of time to spare. Students are advised to apply for changes to their program elements (for instance changing from B.A. English to B.A. Film Studies or changing from B.A. Honours to B.A. 15.0 credit program) no later than Saturday, June 1, 2024, to have it processed prior to fall/winter registration time tickets. It is also important to note that the change of program elements feature will not be available during the returning student time ticket period (Tuesday, July 9 to Friday, July 12, 2024).

  • Please note: students who want their change of program element request processed in time for their academic performance evaluation must apply by Wednesday, May 1, 2024. COPE applications submitted after Wednesday, May 1, 2024 will be effective for the 2024-2025 calendar year. Changes can be made on Carleton Central using the Change of Program Elements function (access by logging into Carleton360 via the Current Students website). If you have questions about choosing or changing your major, it is recommended you see an academic advisor from the Academic Advising Centre. The deadline to apply for an internal transfer to another degree program (for instance B.A. to B.Sc.) is Saturday, June 15, 2024. However, students are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible to allow adequate time for processing.

Government Funding Applications: If you are applying for government student assistance, you must submit your application as early as possible to ensure it is fully processed and your funding available when school begins. If you are an Ontario student applying for OSAP, complete the online application and submit your signed consent, declarations and signatures form(s) to the Awards Office at Carleton University on or before Saturday, June 1, 2024. Contact the Awards Office if you require assistance.

Registration Status and Year Level: Check your registration status and year level online prior to your registration date. Your registration status will be available via Carleton Central (access by logging into Carleton360) by mid-June along with your year level. If you identify any issues or have any questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office immediately as it is important to address any concerns before your registration time ticket opens up.

Account Balance: Check your student account summary to ensure any outstanding balance owed from the previous year has been settled. To view your student account balance, log into Carleton360 and click “My Student Account” from the important links menu. It takes several days for a payment to reach your student account and course access will be denied until your payment is posted. Pay your outstanding account balance well in advance of your time-ticket to avoid disappointment.

Class Schedule: Consult the class schedule (available online on Monday, May 27, 2024) and make plans to register during the time-ticket period in July so you can have the best chance of getting into the courses you want. Look for information on the Registration website throughout the spring. You will receive plenty of information via your Carleton email address to help you make your registration as smooth as possible.
