Andrew Urquhart

Andrew is PFM’s Executive Director and is responsible for the oversight of the Pension Fund Management office. Formerly the private markets lead for the Nav Canada Pension Plan he oversaw a portfolio comprising private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and agriculture globally. Andrew successfully led the deployment into logistics real estate, data centers, contracted infrastructure, and supported the innovation focused growth equity. He established Nav Canada’s co-investment program, developed their ESG action plan, and supported internal FX trading and risk management. During his tenure, he delivered a 1st quartile track record as measured by CEM Benchmarking. Before NAV Canada, he worked in the investment team of a crown corporation responsible for P3 infrastructure investments totaling $6Bn in capital costs across Canada.

Andrew is the Chair of the Ottawa Regional Council of the Pension Investment Association of Canada and has served on the Advisory Committees of data center platforms, logistics real estate clubs, P3 infrastructure funds, and global real estate vehicles, leading in representing the interests of limited partners and their pension beneficiaries. Andrew has an MBA with a specialization in commercial real estate from the Toronto Metropolitan University, a BCom in Finance from the University of Ottawa, and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
