To all members of the Carleton community,

I am pleased to inform you that Christina Flavell will assume the role of Interim Chief Communications Officer and Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs), effective September 1, 2026 for a four-month term ending December 31, 2026. Per my message of March 17, 2026, Tony Frost (CCO & AVP) is scheduled to retire on August 31, 2026. Christina’s appointment ensures continuity in the leadership of the Department of University Communications while we undertake the search for a new CCO & AVP.

Christina brings more than 25 years of experience in communications and marketing, including 15 years in people leadership roles. Since joining Carleton in September 2021 as Director, Marketing and Brand Strategy, she has worked closely with senior leaders across the university to advance Carleton’s strategic priorities for reputation and enrolment.

As a respected member of the Department of University Communications leadership team, Christina has also provided strategic counsel on a range of key university communications issues and initiatives.

Please join me in congratulating Christina on this appointment and thanking her for agreeing to serve Carleton in this capacity. I am sure that she can count on our collective support in the new role.

Let me use this opportunity to, once again, express our gratitude to Tony Frost for almost six years of dedicated service to Carleton and to wish him all the best.

Sincerely,

Wisdom J. Tettey
President and Vice-Chancellor
