Scams are tricks that people play on others to obtain their personal and financial information. These tricks can have serious consequences. An average internet and telephone user will come across many scams on their day-to-day online activities.

This presentation, offered by the University of Ottawa Legal Clinic, will describe some common scams and give you tips on how to protect yourself from becoming a victim. The presentation will cover types of internet and telephone scams, consequences of falling victim to scams.
