Campus Safety Services (CSS) would like to make you aware of reports of individuals approaching Carleton students in various campus parking lots selling home theatre projectors, projector screens and televisions.
As part of their “sales pitch” they offer the items at very cheap prices. For example, they may claim the items are valued at $8,000 but are selling them for 90% off, and produce a fake receipt itemizing the items with prices. They use aggressive sales tactics to make you believe you are getting the best deal possible.
If you are approached by individuals attempting to sell any items, do not engage with them and immediately report the incident to Campus Safety Services at 613-520-4444. Remember: If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
