Luminita Dumitrascu recently completed her MASc degree in Sustainable Energy. Her MASc research was focused on developing a new model for predicting the solar reflectivity of ground surfaces, an important consideration in modelling the performance of passive solar buildings and solar thermal and electric collectors. Prior to moving to Canada, she completed a degree in Conventional Energy Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and worked as an engineer in Romania.
Lumi commenced her PhD studies in September 2018 and her focus is on developing and validating a model to predict the thermal performance of a sub-slab thermal storage system for coupling to a heat pump for providing building heating and cooling.
