Governance & Procedures

Carleton University commits to respecting and achieving good governance.  As a bicameral institution, governance at Carleton is shared by the Board of Governors and the Senate. The Board of Governors acts as the corporate body, while the Senate serves as the highest academic body.

Board of Governors Role

Under the Carleton University Act, the Board oversees the university’s governance and administration. This includes making budgetary decisions and establishing policies necessary for sound management of the university.
