Carleton University is committed to respecting and achieving good governance. As a bicameral institution, governance at Carleton is shared by the Board of Governors and the Senate. The Board of Governors serves as the corporate body and the Senate as the highest academic body.
Board of Governors Role
Under the Carleton University Act, the Board is responsible for oversight of the university’s governance and administration. This includes making budgetary decisions and establishing policies it deems necessary to ensure sound management of the university.
