Graduate Student

Program: Masters of Arts in Political Science

Allison is a second-year graduate student pursuing her Master of Arts in political science at Carleton University. She recently participated in a co-op program working as a Junior Research Analyst for Public Health Canada. On campus, Allison is a Teacher’s Assistant and a Research Assistant. Off campus, she is the current Co-President for Rotex 5060 (associated with Rotary International) and supports past, present, and future Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) students, having been a RYE student herself.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She earned the highest grade point average in the Department of Social Sciences and received the R.M. Middleton Student Prize. Allison was selected to attend a research trip in Punjab, India through UBC and did memory work along the Indo-Pakistan border. At UBC, Allison was the Co-Editor and a contributor to the university’s first Gender and Women’s Studies Editorial. She did an exchange to Slovenia and studied at the University of Ljubljana for a year, later serving as an ambassador for UBC’s exchange program. Allison also served on Member of Parliament Stephen Fuhr’s Youth Council.

Allison has her Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Adults and taught English in the Canary Islands, Spain, where she became fluent in Spanish. She enjoys travelling, has visited over 25 countries, and lived abroad in Italy, Slovenia, and Spain.

Allison was elected to the Board of Governors for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.
