Question 1: I believe that I would be an excellent candidate to be considered as a Student Governor because:

My past experience as a Student Governor has cultivated a passion for representing the undergraduate community voice on the board of Governors and given me practical experience about the inner workings of university administration allowing me to effectively advocate for student issues through my perspective. Being an international student also uniquely positions me to bring issues specifically affecting international students to the table.

Question 2: I have the following skills and experiences which would be beneficial in my role as Student Governor:

– Student Governor 2021/2022 where I gained experience as a fiduciary of Carleton University amongst its stakeholders.
– Brand Ambassador at CUSA Hatch where I learned how to maximize community impact through community oriented events.
– Cultural Exchange Participant at Carleton University International Partnerships Program where I learned how to empower communities by mobilizing support for community issues through digital stories.

Question 3: If elected to the Board, what would you like to gain from the experience and/or what skills would you like to further develop?

If re-elected to the board, I’d like to further develop my financial knowledge on the governance of complex organizations like universities and continue learning from the distinguished members of Carleton’s board.
