We are very pleased to congratulate Kara Brisson-Boivin (our recent Sociology PhD graduate) who has accepted a position with the national non-profit MediaSmarts as the Director of Research. MediaSmarts is Canada's centre for Digital and Media Literacy. Through education, public awareness, and research and policy the organization supports adults with information and tools so they can help children and teens develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the media they love. Kara will continue her undergraduate teaching and her work as the graduate student transitions mentor until the end of April, and will be maintaining and building research collaboration with the Department in her new position.
