Dr. Tubb is an sociocultural anthropologist working on the relationship between people and their environments. He conducts ethnographic research in Colombia, specifically in the Chocó region on the Caribbean Coast, as well as in New Brunswick, Canada. His research focuses on rural livelihoods, artisanal gold mining, extractivism, and agrarian studies. He is currently studying wetlands in the Colombian Caribbean and the Grand Lake Meadows in New Brunswick, with a focus on agrarian change, agroforestry, and silvio-pasture. Tubb has written several books on artisanal gold mining in Colombia and speculative nonfiction in New Brunswick. He is open to co-supervising (or meeting with students) conducting research in Colombia. He is currently working on a new book about writing and practical knowledge.
