What is “sex tourism”? Why do tourists and locals participate? What’s in it for them? What’s love got to do with it? And sex? What about money? And race? In this joint conversation, Megan Rivers-Moore and Marie-Eve Carrier-Moisan will share stories from their research on sex tourism in event_costa Rica and Brazil.
They will explore some commonly held ideas about the buying and selling of sex while on vacation, and show that sex tourism is more complicated than what most people think and works out differently in different contexts and locations. By sharing stories and experiences from Brazil and event_costa Rica, they hope to shed light on the complex issue of sex tourism.
Light refreshments will be served.
