"Carleton’s doctoral program in sociology gave me a chance to work with people, which is something I will always treasure. I was able to receive guidance from great teachers, meet radical and engaged peers in many different frontiers of social research, and make meaningful professional connections that will benefit me in the future. The doctoral program in sociology helped me organize the ideas I had about the world into a publishable thesis, and showed me venues of social engagement that I could not have discovered on my own. I had a great time in the program. With good people to keep me safe along the way, all the ups and downs become part of a dramatic, story-worthy whole. A special thanks to my supervisor, without whom I would never have survived this far."
