"This was such a great department to be a part of. It was small, close knit, and diverse. There were so many interesting topics being studied in my MA cohort, and it made for really great courses with lots of discussion. I also benefitted tremendously from my experience as a TA in anthropology at Carleton, and I reflect on those times in my teaching today. Anthropology is such a unique discipline and offers a breadth and depth of engagement that is rare in academia. You would be hard pressed to find a discipline that is more reflexive and responsive to social, cultural, and environmental issues, and progressive in its ability to challenge the academy’s Eurocentric understanding of knowledge and pedagogy. Anthropology is truly transdisciplinary and for that reason it is always pushing the boundaries. The anthropology department at Carleton is a great place to both study and practice anthropology."
