“My time in the Sociology doctoral program at Carleton Department was truly formative for my development as a scholar. The staff that support and run the program are exceptional and highly dedicated. I benefited enormously from the diverse and engaged faculty members during my course work and through to the completion of my degree. I found when comparing my experience at Carleton with other sociology graduate students, I was blown away with the level of support for graduate student success in my own program at Carleton. Further, as a parent, I felt that the department truly understood and was able and willing to accommodate my unique needs and requirements. Overall, I was very lucky in my choice of program. Today, as a sociology instructor at Douglas College, I take great pleasure in speaking about the history of the Carleton sociology program when I teach Canadian Society.”
