"I will always remember my time in the department fondly, and I would highly recommend Carleton University as a place for people interested in studying social and cultural anthropology. The professors are a set of brilliant and diverse people who make an impact in their respective fields. They are equally adept at helping students develop their understandings on both classic and contemporary literature and method. Students are encouraged to be themselves as individuals, have unique perspectives, and develop their own positions on the contemporary issues of the discipline. Professors are exceptional in this regard, in helping students to develop their own arguments and perspectives, and round out those perspectives in the context of many scholarly voices. Additionally, the sense of community is exceptional. Both the faculty and staff are keenly invested in student success and well being, and small class sizes mean your classmates can become lifelong colleagues or friendships."
