Maria Barrados retired from the federal public service as President of the Public Service Commission of Canada, having also served as Assistant Auditor General at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. She is currently Executive-in-Residence at The Sprott School of Business, Carleton University. She continues to serve on Boards and advisory committees and pursue her research interests.
From her PH.D. on educational attainment of secondary school students she has maintained her interest in the identification of factors including social, experiential and economic that shape opportunities, careers and well-being. Further she remains interested in identifying appropriate policies and possible interventions.
Also of interest are the factors that influence organizational performance that have led to her work in public service reform, governance, financial and human resource management.
