Flavia Alves is a PhD candidate in public policy at Carleton University. Her research focuses on the impact of telecom technology on the banking industry and in the labour market. Prior to starting her PhD, she served as a senior advisor to the Deputy Governor of Financial Citizenship at the Central Bank of Brazil. She is currently an associate editor for the journal Carleton Perspectives on Public Policy (CPoPP) and a volunteer at the Carleton Language Centre where she teaches Portuguese. Flavia holds an MA in international policy from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, California.
