VPN Connection Will Soon Be Required for Off-Campus Management of Staging Sites

Beginning on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, a connection to Carleton’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) will be required to log into staging sites for those who are working off campus.

This will provide several key benefits:

• Google will no longer be able to crawl staging sites, meaning that sites in development will remain out of the public eye until they are finalized and go live.
• Staging sites will receive additional security protection against potential intruders.

Those working on campus will not require a connection to the VPN when logging into staging sites.
