Who We Are

The Student Philanthropy Association (SPA) is a student-driven group that strives to foster a culture of philanthropy within the Carleton campus community. The Association provides students interested in philanthropy with the opportunity to develop their philanthropic skill sets and positively affect change for current and future Carleton students. Carleton is a registered charity that collaborates with our community of supporters (alumni, parents, faculty, staff, retirees, students, and friends) to create good both here at Carleton and around the world. Philanthropy at Carleton funds scholarships and bursaries, research initiatives, library resources, student experiences, and many other exciting projects.

The Association is managed by the department of University Advancement (DUA). Student staff work with the annual giving officer, University Advancement, to develop and implement “GRADitude”, a fundraising campaign for graduating students. For more information on the GRADitude campaign, click here. These student staff also work to build an awareness of university philanthropy throughout the student body.
