New Publication: Platform Islandization

A: If you can theorize the entire internet from a small place called Sillicon Valley, why can’t you theorize from a place with over 17,000 islands?
Merlyna Lim provides an answer. Employing “Indonesia as a method,” this article proposes a new way of theorizing, an epistemic intervention to understand digital life and computational environments, through what she terms “platform islandization.”
