Canadian High School Students
If you have been admitted to Carleton with an admissions average of 80 percent or better, you will automatically be considered for a renewable entrance scholarship at the time of admission. The admissions average we use is calculated from the grades submitted by your high school in support of your application. Entrance scholarships are offered for fall entry only. You may be offered a renewable entrance scholarship provided you are entering Carleton for the first time from high school or CEGEP and have no previous attendance at post-secondary educational institutions. To be considered for an entrance scholarship, the University’s Admissions Services must receive your complete application for admission and all required grades (either directly or through the Ontario Universities Application Centre) by June 15. Entrance scholarship offers are not assessed or reassessed on final high school grades.
College/University Transfer Students
If you are an excellent student from a college program in Canada or transferring from another Canadian university to a full-time undergraduate program at Carleton University, you may be eligible for one of our scholarships for transfer students. Scholarships are offered for fall entry only. You may be offered a scholarship provided you are entering Carleton for the first time and have not already completed a degree. If eligible when admitted to Carleton, the scholarship value will be determined by your admissions average as calculated at the time of admission.
International High School Students
If you have been admitted to Carleton with an admission average of 80 percent or better and meet language requirements, you will automatically be considered for a renewable entrance scholarship. The admission average we use is calculated from the marks submitted by your high school in support of your application. Entrance scholarships are offered for fall entry only. You may be offered a renewable entrance scholarship provided you are entering Carleton for the first time and have no previous attendance at post secondary educational institutions. If eligible when admitted to Carleton, the scholarship value will be determined by your admissions average as calculated at the time of admission. Entrance scholarship offers are not assessed or reassessed on final high school grades.

- Prestige Scholarship

Our highest awards are our Prestige Scholarships. You will be considered for a Prestige Scholarship only if you are entering Carleton directly from high school or CÉGEP with an admission average of 90 per cent or better. The selection committee will also assess the range of your community or secondary school extracurricular activities. An application and letter of reference are required.
- The application will be available December for students entering Carleton Fall 2025.
- Carleton Capital Scholarship

Up to 13 students will be selected annually, with one recipient for each province and territory, to receive a $2000 award in their first year. To be considered, students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons entering the first year of any undergraduate degree program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time. Students must also demonstrate participation in extra-curricular activities and a strong academic background (with a minimum admission average of 90%). This scholarship may be awarded in addition to other Entrance or Prestige Scholarships. An application is required.
The application is part of the Prestige Scholarship application.

- David Muir Entrance Scholarship in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

One scholarship, valued at $7,500 in first year and renewable at $4,000 or $3,000 in second, third and fourth year, will be awarded to an outstanding student entering the first year of an undergraduate program with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering this fall. Eligible programs of study: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering. To be eligible, you must be entering the first year of your program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time. To be considered, you’ll need an admission average of 90% or better – the selection committee will also assess the range of your community or secondary school activities. The scholarship will replace any previously offered renewable entrance scholarship. An application is required.
- Ronald and Deanna Biggs Scholarship

Awarded annually to an outstanding, full-time undergraduate student entering a Bachelor of Engineering program at Carleton University. Application is required and eligible students must demonstrate a strong academic background, and participation in extra-curricular secondary school activities or community service. This scholarship may be continued for three years of full-time enrollment provided the student maintains a GPA of 10.0 or better. Endowed in 2000 by Ronald and Deanna Biggs.
- Buss Family Scholarship for Children of Carleton University Alumni

Awarded annually to an outstanding undergraduate student who is a child of an Alumni of Carleton University and is entering or proceeding from one year to another in any area of study at Carleton University. Application is required. Eligible students will have a parent who is an alumni of Carleton University, and students must demonstrate engagement in civic, community or university life.
- Mini-Courses Program (MCP) Award

Up to five scholarships, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to students who have participated in the Mini-Courses Program prior to entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at Carleton University. The scholarships will be awarded to the candidates who have the highest scholastic standing of all candidates who are eligible for this award. An application is required.
- Pamela and Richard Joho Scholarship

Awarded annually to an outstanding student entering the Bachelor of Humanities, Bachelor of Arts in Greek and Roman Studies, or the Bachelor of Arts in Religion in the College of the Humanities (or any additional undergraduate degree program in the College of Humanities) at Carleton University. Eligible students must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person) and must demonstrate a strong academic background and participation in extra-curricular activities. Students who study abroad as part of any undergraduate degree program within the College of the Humanities are eligible to hold this scholarship during their year abroad. This scholarship is renewable up to four years. Application is required. Endowed in 2008 by Pamela and Richard Joho to honour their commitment to a classical education.

- International Certificate Program (ICP) Award for BGInS

The International Certificate Program Scholarship, valued at $1000, is awarded to ten outstanding students entering the Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) program at Carleton University. To be considered, you must be a graduate, or currently enrolled, in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board ICP Program with a minimum admission average of 80%. You must also be pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time. An application is required.
- Law Entrance Scholarship in Architectural Studies

The Law Entrance Scholarship in Architectural Studies, was established to provide financial assistance to an international student who is entering the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program at Carleton University this fall. Applications from international students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time will be considered. Eligible students should demonstrate academic promise and previously attended high school in Hong Kong or China.

- Arthur Kroeger College National Scholarships for Public Affairs and Policy Management

Up to ten scholarships, valued at $2,000, will be awarded to students entering the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program. Two students (minimum admissions average of 90%) will be selected from each of the following five regions: British Columbia and Northern Canada; the Prairies; Ontario; Quebec; and, Atlantic Canada. This scholarship may be awarded in addition to other Entrance or Prestige Scholarships. No application required, eligible students will automatically be considered.

Carleton University Page Program Scholarships, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to students in the House of Commons Page program who are entering an undergraduate degree program at Carleton University this fall. The scholarship is awarded in addition to other Entrance or Prestige Scholarships. Students in the House of Commons Page program will automatically be considered.
- Dr. Roseann O'Reilly Runte Entrance Award in Music

Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of School for Studies in Arts and Culture to an outstanding performer entering the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program at Carleton University. The award will be offered to a student with exceptional audition results. Preference will be given to performance students in classical or jazz repertoire. Endowed in 2017 by Dr. Roseann O’Reilly Runte. No application required.
- W.H. Collins Entrance Scholarships of Excellence
Value $3000. Awarded to the top five outstanding students entering a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences. To be considered, students must be entering in the fall term and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time. This scholarship is renewable for one additional year provided the student maintains enrolment in a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences and achieves an annual GPA of 10.0. This scholarship may be awarded in addition to other Entrance or Prestige scholarships. No application is required. Established in 2024.
