We use the words global and international almost every day, but what exactly do they mean? What does the study of globalization and international relations give us? At Carleton’s Global and International Studies Program, students learn how to view the world from a globalized perspective. A multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop this outlook as we examine the global and the international from the vantage point of global cultures, histories, ethics, and literatures, as well as international politics, laws, and economics. Equally important, our students travel the world on exchanges, work placements, and Carleton courses taught abroad to see how their classroom learning translates into the experience of living, working, and studying overseas. From this combination of academic discovery and international experience, our students are able to move into working within internationally oriented institutions while also transforming their communities. Come join us as we explore the fascinating, ever-changing world around us.
