The CHAIM Centre is hosting the 5th annual One Health Student Challenge, open to Carleton undergraduate students 2nd year and up! This year’s challenge will be fully virtual to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. Students will be collaborating in interdisciplinary teams to create an intervention (an application, program, tool, product, or strategy) that promotes the use of green spaces to achieve public health benefits while balancing the potential negative effects on ecological health and biodiversity. This intervention could consist of changes to the green spaces themselves, or programs that promote its use.

This is a great opportunity to apply knowledge learned in class to a real-world problem, meet new people, and collaborate with students in other disciplines!

After six weeks, students will present their strategy to a panel of judges who will choose a winning team. Members of the winning team will have their intervention featured on the CHAIM Centre website and receive a cash prize of $100 each.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 19th, 2021.
