Wilde Tracks’ veterinary and conservation programs in Namibia, Malawi, and South Africa offer tailored trips for students and faculty, with the option of a Wilde Tracks representative or your own staff member leading the group.
The programs focus on wildlife conservation and animal welfare, providing opportunities to work directly with animals and contribute to important projects.
Program highlights include:
- South Africa: Learn all aspects of game capture and wildlife medicine. Past groups have worked with a variety of species, including dehorning rhinos, giraffe translocation, and mass capture of antelope species. Gain experience using dart guns and have the opportunity to learn how to operate them from a helicopter.
- Malawi: Engage in a One Health approach while working in a Big 5 reserve. Activities include predator collaring and sterilization programs, as well as dog sterilizations, vaccinations and general veterinary care.
- Namibia: Assist with rhino dehorning and game capture, focusing on species such as roan and sable. You’ll also participate in dog sterilizations, emergency clinic work, and learn the care and rehabilitation of raptors and other species at specialised rehab centres. .
All travel arrangements, including transport, accommodation, and activities such as game drives, anti poaching unit demonstrations, telemetry and bush knowledge workshops, are provided.
