Jacky Chan
Undergraduate Student
Jacky Chan is a fourth-year student at Carleton University studying Public Affairs and Policy Management. Jacky is a passionate supporter of young people from all backgrounds; with a keen understanding of the challenges the current cost-of-living crisis poses for students.
Jacky has a breadth of experience working in leadership, governance and on committees. His previous work as a Student Senator serving on the Senate Committee on Curriculum, Admissions and Studies Policy and the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Student Awards, leaves him with a deep understanding of the committee processes involved in shaping admissions, curriculum, and awards policies. During his time on the undergraduate awards committee, he advocated for improvements to the scholarship application process to make it more accessible for student applicants.
Jacky’s work experience as a Communications and Administrative Assistant with Carleton’s Secretariat Office and as a Councillor on the Rideau River Residence Association, sitting on the Finance Committee has given him experience with both academic and corporate governance and budget related decision making.
