Your online learning platform has changed! All academic courses are now hosted in Brightspace, which has officially replaced cuLearn as Carleton’s Learning Management System (LMS). Log in at brightspace.carleton.ca using your MC1 credentials. If you have logged in to the system and do not see courses available to you, visit the Course Visibility in Brightspace page for more information.
Get to Know Brightspace
If you’re wondering where to begin with Brightspace, consider signing up for the Online Learning Orientation. You can explore the new system while reviewing strategies to help you succeed in online courses.
To help you find content in your Brightspace courses, visit the Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) Student Brightspace channel to watch a virtual tour of the new system and short videos of common Brightspace activities, such as completing a quiz or using the discussion tool. More videos will be added in the coming weeks!
Accessing cuLearn Content
Your access to previous courses in cuLearn will be maintained throughout 2021 to allow time to review content, such as assignments and grades. cuLearn course data will not be imported to Brightspace but will continue to be archived in cuLearn.
Remember though that direct access to past courses in cuLearn is dependent on whether the instructor has kept the course visible. Course access, whether in cuLearn or Brightspace, is at the discretion of the instructor. If the course you are looking for is not available, please contact your instructor directly regarding access and content retrieval.

Learning a new LMS can be challenging a first. We know you’ll have questions. D2L provides on-demand technical support for Brightspace 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year via email, chat and phone.
