Sadeghian, Tanyous, and Mirshekar wins Best Paper Award at ConMat ’20

Congratulations to Carleton University Professor Vahid Sadeghian and his students, Mark Tanyous and Sepideh Mirshekar, for winning the Best Paper of ConMat ‘20 for their exceptional work on “Modelling FRP-strengthened beam-column joints in performance assessment of RC frames.”

Their paper was examined by the scientific committee using five criteria and it was decidedly exceptional.  According to Dr. Koichi Kobayashi in terms of professional merit, “it rose to our standards of originality, technical quality, contribution to the field, organization of material, and clarity of explanation/illustration.”

ConMat ’20 is the Sixth International Conference on Construction Material. Its main objective is to create an environment of cooperation and active dialogue among experts, through which significant cross-fertilization of ideas can occur, and innovations can be brought about in construction materials.
