What was your experience like in the program?
My B.Hum experience was less about learning facts and more about learning how to learn- how to ask questions, how to look for answers. I was exposed to new cultures, philosophies, and narritives and the result was that I became more compassionate, and open to new ways of thinking and experiencing the world around me. Most people study in order to gain skills that will help them with a particular job, but I feel like I studied to gain skills to help me through life in general (that also happen to be valuable for a variety of jobs!).
I regularly brag about the support and encouragement I received from all of my professors and classmates. I went through a few difficult personal situations during my undergrad and always felt like my professors genuinely cared about my wellbeing, and they were accommodating when I required extra support or time.
If I could do it all again, I absolutely would!
How has your B.Hum degree helped your career?
Organization, critical thinking, and writing/communication skills helped me quickly advance in this office; lead to participation and leadership roles in variety of projects. Experience as a CU undergrad student has also been helpful.
