Learning in Retirement wins Service Excellence by a Team
The Service Excellence Awards are presented every year to recognize the outstanding contribution that faculty and staff make at Carleton University. The second category presented was Service Excellence by a Team, which recognizes groups that demonstrate a shared commitment to providing exceptional service. We are very happy to announce that the winning team was Learning in Retirement (LinR) in the Centre for Initiatives in Education with Mirka Snopkowska, Maria Dabboussy, and Katherine Waitschat-Drew.
Last September, there was a software glitch on registration day. Hundreds of registrations did not appear in the department’s database. The team reacted quickly and efficiently to what is normally an automated process and responded individually to each participant. They worked with each person to remedy what could have been very difficult interactions filled with misunderstandings.
Congratulations, Mirka, Maria, and Katherine!
