Roadmap for Master of Cognitive Science Students (Project Stream)

Activity Due Date
Meet with your Project Supervisor and read the information sheet about the Project Stream (https://carleton.ca/cognitivescience/wp-content/uploads/ICS-MCogSc-Research-Project-Guidelines-and-Agreement-2-1.pdf) As soon as you begin the program
Consult with your Project Advisor and the Graduate Supervisor about course selection As soon as you begin the program
Complete majority of course work:

(this means 2-3 courses per term in your 1st year)

By end of Winter term in 1st year
Annual Review of Graduate Students (ARGS); this an evaluation of your progress in the program (CV required) End of Winter term in 1st year
Work on your Research Project in consultation with Project Supervisor Summer between 1st and 2nd year and Fall of 2ndyear
Select a Second Reader for your Project and fill out the CGSC5908: Research Project Agreement Between Student and Project Supervisor form (found here: https://carleton.ca/cognitivescience/wp-content/uploads/ICS-MCogSc-Research-Project-Guidelines-and-Agreement-2-1-1.pdf) No later than end of Fall term of 2nd year
Complete any remaining coursework By April of 2nd year
Indicate intention to graduate By February of 2nd year if intending to defend before May of 2nd year (June graduation) or by September if intending to defend before end of Summer Term of 2nd year (November graduation). Specific dates are set by FGPA.
Submit final version of Project for Grading (to Project Supervisor and Second Reader) During the Summer of 2nd year. Specific dates to be decided by Project Supervisor and Second Reader.   Grade must be submitted during the Summer Term.
